Blog Post #10
I believe that school should not combine both special and general education students in the same classroom. I believe that this is much harder to learn and will create a distraction amongst everyone. I have had an experience that can relate to this. I was in a combine class for 6th grade with the 5th graders. Throughout the entire year, nobody learned much, we didn't exactly do anything to promote academic skills, and homework and lessons were taught in groups with chosen leader of the day. With special ed general students in the same classroom, there would need to be more than one guardian/adult for supervising in order to take care of them. I'm not sure who this affects, but with so much interactions going on in between lessons during session, it makes it hard for me to focus. We are also not in the same level, which is why the special ed students are in a discrete classroom and not integrated with general education students.

Tutoring Reflection
Today, our class went to help the special ed class in preparation of their baking session. We got to see how the kids did and how they interacted with each other. When they were told to introduce themselves by telling their name and grade level, you can perceive that some were in a much higher standard than others. They were more fluent in their speech and were much more pragmatic in a normal classroom circumstance. Overall, all of them were polite, courteous, and none of them caused a hysteria.
One thing I didn't understand was what our objective was. The special ed's teacher told us to not tell them the answer and let them figure out by themselves. I see that they were easily able to figure out what size measuring cups to use right on the spot, so there was no trouble there. I felt a little bit out of place because I really didn't do much except wash my hands, stand there, and watch how they interacted with each other. I don't think the word "tutoring" described the session we had today. I would rather think of it as sort of an "aiding' session. That's my take on it.

In Psy's music video, Gentlemen, there was a split second where an mobile app called Candy Crush was being played. Candy Crush strictly used ethos as a strategy to get more people to download and play their game. Since Psy had a record breaking music video, Gangnam Style, everyone was anticipated to see his next release, Candy Crush used the big name Psy to try and up their app's download rate. It's to influence people that if Psy is playing Candy Crush, so should you.

New Year's Resolution
For this semester, I would like to get good grades and do well in all my subjects. I would also like to sleep more, like before 12.
